Our recipe for success

We are a reliable partner who makes the sourcing of technical supplies as easy and efficient as it gets for customers. We do this with passion and innovativeness, day in day out. Our product range comprises millions of quality items, customer-centric solutions and services, and face-to-face expert advice. We are fully committed to this mission. We see change as a catalyst for opportunities, and supply customers with everything they need to successfully complete their projects. As a family-run business, operating in a sustainable way and building long-term business relationships are paramount to us. We stand for quality and reliability.

We are looking for a Platform Architect (m/f/d) to join our agile architecture team and take our technical infrastructure to the next level.

As a Platform Architect, you will play a leading role in the strategic and operational development of our sourcing platform, which includes procurement solutions such as web shops, punch-out shops, APIs, and more. You will design innovative, scalable solutions and support various development teams in sustainably optimizing procurement processes for our customers.

Your contribution to success

  • Architecture: You will continuously develop, maintain, and optimize the technical architecture of our sourcing platform at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Architecture Governance: You will further develop effective governance processes within a complex development organization to ensure the long-term consistency, clarity, and future-viability of our architecture.
  • Solution Design: You will create solution designs that form the foundation for complex projects, collaborating with various teams and departments to find the best possible solutions for our customers.
  • Hands-On Support: You will operate across our ~15 development teams, providing direct support when needed through coding or by conducting architecture and code reviews.
  • Best Practices: You rely on proven best practices and help establish them throughout the organization to steadily improve our architectural standards.
  • Coaching: You share your knowledge and experience, developing not just our technology, but our organization as a whole.

Your success factors

  • Technical Degree: You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Architectural Expertise: You possess deep knowledge of software architecture and system design and successfully apply common architectural patterns.
  • Solid Experience: You have at least 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in a key role with architectural responsibility within an organization of 5+ development teams.
  • Methodology: You know and act according to architectural best practices. Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and modeling techniques (e.g., UML, C4) are part of your standard toolkit.
  • Technical Stack: You have experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) and possess in-depth knowledge of Java, Spring, Kubernetes, as well as common relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Communication: One of your strengths is making complex technical topics understandable and accessible to non-technical colleagues.
  • Solution Orientation: You have the analytical skills and persistence required to understand and optimize complex processes.
  • Languages: You have very good English skills (C1); German language skills are an advantage.
